On May 1, 2008, the European Ethnic Melodies Show and host, Daniel Jan, received an EXCEL Award on the campus of Binghamton University for "outstanding multi-cultural programming at WHRW-FM."

August 2009 Schedule
1...August 4, 2009...The Second Annual special month-long program entitled "A Carpathian Holiday" will begin. This original and special series of programs during the entire month of August 2009 will focus on the rich mosaic and diversity of music, culture, history, customs, and traditions of ALL the European nations who are a part of the 900 mile-long, semi-circular forested mountain range of Central and Eastern Europe.

FYI:The special month-long program, "A Carpathian Holiday," is my 18th original specialty program of the eclectic dynamic life force, multi-ethnic and cultural programming to honor and highlight the holydays, holidays, and national celebrations found throughout the year featuring more than a century of recorded multi-ethnic folk, world, nationality, and polka music from two continents.
