On May 1, 2008, the European Ethnic Melodies Show and host, Daniel Jan, received an EXCEL Award on the campus of Binghamton University for "outstanding multi-cultural programming at WHRW-FM."

"Celebrating over 21 years on the FM dial and the 11th year on the Internet."

All programs are broadcast on Tuesday evening from 7-10 P.M., locally at 90.5 on the FM dial and simulcast world-wide at www.whrwfm.org

November 2008 Schedule

*****PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SPECIAL PROGRAM , ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY NOVEMBER 4, 2008, WAS PRE-EMPTED BY THE WHRW-FM NEWS DEPARTMENT IN ORDER TO COVER THE 2008 NATIONAL ELECTION. I WAS NOT INFORMED OF THIS PRE-EMPTION UNTIL NOVEMBER 1st VIA EMAIL FROM THE WHRW PROGRAM DIRECTOR.******

1...November 4, 2008...This program, the sixth program since I went on the air at  WHRW-FM in 1988, is on the day and evening  of the National Elections.   It will be a program featuring a few songs about the elec-tion and the election  process followed by  a LOT of  happy music to take your minds off the elections(finally) and...to  delay the inevitable for a few hours..... i.e.,...to get your mind off what may be in store(economically, politically, militarily, diplomatically,and socially) for this nation in the next four years....and more...

2...November 11, 2008....Special Annual programming for the National Celebration of Veterans Day 2008. Our nation's veterans are honored and remembered ALL 52 weeks of the year on my show.

3...November 18, 20084...Special programming for the 55th Anniversary Celebration of the Oberkrainer-style of polka and waltz music created in 1953 by Slavko Avsenik.  This 9th Annual program and celebration is further designed to honor Slavko Avsenik on his birthday as being the true  "World's Polka and Waltz King"...Der Polka Und Der Walzer Koenig Der Welt.   ZIVIO, SLAVKO!!!

4...November 25, 2008...THE NOVEMBER 25TH PROGRAM HAS BEEN PRE-EMPTED DUE TO BINGHAMTON UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S BASKETBALL. I WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS SHOW'S PRE-EMPTION  ON NOVEMBER 5th AND I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PREVIOUS PRE-EMPTION OF MY NOVEMBER 4th SHOW ON NOVEMBER 1st.

 I SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE CAUSED BY THESE TWO SHOW'S PRE-EMPTIONS.
